Alioto's offers one of the most spectacular views of Fisherman's Wharf, the Golden Gate Bridge, and the fishing harbor. The restaurant was established in 1925 and is now run by the fourth generation of the Alioto Family. Since then, little has changed, fish is still bought by Alioto's full-time fish buyer, Al Spadaro.
Alioto's serves a tantalizing selection of fresh seafood, including sea bass, sand dabs, sole, swordfish, tuna, scallops, and Dungeness crab all -- all caught locally, whenever possible. A favorite is cioppino, a spicy tomato shellfish stew created by the restaurant's founder, Rose Alioto.
Also try Alioto's Waterside Cafe for more casual dining indoors and out, with the same views of the bay.
Open daily from 11am to 11pm. All major credit cards accepted. Free parking. For info visit www.aliotos.com.
