After Dark: Home, the inauguralAfter Dark at the Exploratorium's new Pier 15 location is a museum-wide housewarming party, featuring behind-the-scenes tours of the new building, live music, films and explorations of homes ranging from Earth to the human microbiome. Dance to the down home live music performed on Zac Carroll's Front Porch, a homestead-inspired mobile stage built from period materials (including parts of an old speakeasy) and pulled by a 1929 tractor named Bessie. Spin Home, a 14' illuminated globe by artist Michael Christian, and watch it scatter street map silhouettes from cities around the world. Learn how lead design architect Marc L'Italien of EHDD and lead mechanical engineer Peter Rumsey of Integral Group transformed a cavernous historic pier into a vital new home for the Exploratorium. Sip drinks, explore, and make yourself comfortable in the Exploratorium's new home. After Dark is every Thursday evening from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. for adults ages 18 and up, with activities ranging from intimate to spectacular. On the first Thursday of each month, After Dark has a special theme. Upcoming After Darkfirst Thursday themes include Boom, Freestyle, Decay and Glow.

This is the 8th Annual Wine Festival at historic Ghirardelli Square. Food and wine lovers will gather to enjoy wines from more than 50 top-tier wineries, live entertainment, cooking demonstrations by top San Francisco chefs, and wine education seminars. This year, there will also be a Food Truck Court on Beach Street. Uncorked! has once again partnered with local non-profit organization, Save the Bay, and will donate a portion of the proceeds raised from ticket sales to support the organization's efforts to protect, restore, and celebrate the San Francisco Bay.
