The San Francisco Travel Association is a 105 year-old, 501 c(6) organization that has a mission of enhancing the local economy by marketing San Francisco and the Bay Area as the premier destination for conventions, meetings, events and leisure travel. SF Travel acts as a specialized economic development agency and works to promote the destination worldwide while ensuring that tourism, the top generator of outside revenue into the city's economy, is kept forefront as citywide decisions and policies are made. SF Travel's Visitor Information Center is located at 900 Market Street below the cable car turnaround station on Market and Powell Streets. The center is open daily Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday, Sunday and holidays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. It is closed on Easter Sunday, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year's Day, and on Sundays from November through April.
